question by user about license for firmware / DSPcode
reminder in 2005-06
some good answers by ADI mostly technical ones :/
license for firmware and doc ?
last message : Farinam will follow up the progress
first answer by Farinam some answers to be taken into account, more questions on our part (non answered), some license proposal for firmware, quoting Farinam: "ADI is not providing source code for the firmware :-( The binary files will be distributed freely to end users ( Is public domain licensing good for this? )"
To do by eagle-usb.org team
- finish modifications for GPL headers where necessary
- implement CMV 10 to obtain DSPcode version (done ?)
- ask Farinam
- an update on what would restrain ADI from freeing the sourcecode
- list unanswered question
- their previsional planning for releasing the sourcecode for USE firmware and DSPcode
- ask Sagem
- if we can make public his name
- what they are interested in (done) : their position on GPLing completely the driver (sourcecode for USB firmware and DSPcode), update for their website, advices for ISP (make a technical page !)
FirmwareLicensing some infos why the license of the firmware and DSPcode can be different than GPL
